Choosing the right IFZA license depends on your primary business activity. Here's a decision framework:
Choose Commercial if: Your business primarily involves buying, selling, importing, exporting, or distributing physical goods. This covers 448 activities from general trading to specialized product categories.
Choose Professional if: Your business primarily provides expertise, knowledge, creative work, or services. This covers 372 activities from consulting to design to education.
Choose Both (cross-business) if: Your business spans both goods and services — a software company that also sells hardware, a consulting firm that also trades equipment, or an e-commerce business that also provides digital services. With IFZA's cross-business licensing, you don't have to choose — you can have both on a single license.
Activity selection tips:• Start with the 3 included activities — pick the ones most central to your business
• Add activities 4–7 only if you genuinely need them (additional cost applies)
• You can amend your activities later if your business evolves
• Check if your chosen activities require TPA — regulated activities add time and cost
