GSO's conformity assessment scheme page lists the technical regulations approved for the Gulf Conformity Marking. General Product Safety (BD09100504) reaches consumer products broadly. Toys (2nd edition, BD-131704-01) restricts certain hazardous chemicals, sets noise limits and requires manufacturers to analyse the risks toys can cause. Low Voltage Electrical Equipment (BD-142004-01) adds electromagnetic compatibility requirements, with an accompanying list (TC143307-01) specifying in its Annex 4 the equipment subject to conformity assessment. Water Consumption Conservation Products were approved in 2023 with implementation from 2024. GSO's time plan also names priority areas for future regulations: cosmetics, energy efficiency, hazardous substances in electronics (RoHS), EMC, machinery, lifts, construction products, medical devices, gas appliances, measuring instruments and halal products. Not every Gulf requirement travels with the marking: GSO 9:2022, Labeling of prepackaged food stuffs (Edition 4, approved 19 October 2022), is the Gulf technical regulation that sets prepacked food labelling, and importers meet it through the label itself.
Our prepacked food labelling guide covers it in full. Check the specific regulation for your category before assuming the G-mark applies. Toys are the clearest case: the
toys import registration guide walks the full stack.
