On arrival at the port of entry, the importing company submits the release request through the Montaji import service (CPIP) and receives the CPIP reference number. The request carries the consignment details: purpose, mode of transport, port of entry, container type and number, the Customs Bill of Entry and its date, the airway bill number and date, arrival date, country of origin, storage condition, packing list details and batch numbers. The documents to upload are the Montaji CPIP reference or a copy of the application, the Customs Bill of Entry, the airway bill or bill of lading, the delivery order, the purchase invoice and the packing list, with an EN 71 certificate or laboratory safety report for toys and a material migration test report for food contact materials where relevant, plus the certificate of origin, halal and organic certificates and laboratory reports where applicable. The guideline prices the release request at AED 50 per container, and its workflow marks a 10 working day window at the inspection stage. A consignment is held when the goods do not match the declared packing list, when the original documents are incomplete or incorrect, or when the company carries a ban from a previous pending case. The distinction between the two permits is explained in our
import permit vs product registration guide. Every invoice line also needs the right tariff code: the
HS code guide explains how classification shapes duty and restrictions.
