Clause 7.1 lists the components that must be declared in clear English and/or Arabic: brand name, product name (a trade name cannot replace the product name), manufacturer or UAE agent details, country of origin in the form Made in (country), ingredients in INCI or botanical names, pack size, production and expiry dates in non-removable printing or stickers, storage conditions, instructions of use, warnings, barcode, and batch number. Perfume adds two specifics from the guideline. First, allergens: for perfumes, toilet waters and eau de Cologne, Annex 1 requires any allergen equal to or above 0.001% in leave-on products (perfumes are leave-on) to be indicated on the label within the ingredients (the rinse-off threshold is 0.01%), and the same annex sets methanol at absent. Second, flammability: the guideline requires dangerous-substances symbols where a substance can be defined as explosive, oxidizer, flammable, harmful, toxic, irritant, corrosive or harmful to the environment, applying the UN Globally Harmonized System of classification, labelling and packaging, which is where alcohol-based fragrances usually pick up a flammable symbol. Professional-use fragrance products must carry the sentence For Professional use only clearly on the label (clause 5.1). Two prohibitions matter for fragrance marketing: no medical claims (prevention, treatment or cure) on the label, brochures or leaflets, and no illustrations inconsistent with prevailing social customs and values.
